NOT Spreading His Own Wealth Around: Obama Aunt Found in Boston Slum

Found in a rundown Boston estate: Barack Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango

'Auntie Zeituni', who, with Uncle Omar, dropped out of sight after moving to the US, is backing the presidential candidate from her modest flat

Barack Obama has lived one version of the American Dream that has taken him to the steps of the White House. But a few miles from where the Democratic presidential candidate studied at Harvard, his Kenyan aunt and uncle, immigrants living in modest circumstances in Boston, have a contrasting American story.

Zeituni Onyango, the aunt so affectionately described in Mr Obama’s best-selling memoir Dreams from My Father, lives in a disabled-access flat on a rundown public housing estate in South Boston.

A second relative believed to be the long-lost “Uncle Omar” described in the book was beaten by armed robbers with a “sawed-off rifle” while working in a corner shop in the Dorchester area of the city. He was later evicted from his one-bedroom flat for failing to pay $2,324.20 (£1,488) arrears, according to the Boston Housing Court.

Barack Obama's own half-brother, George Obama, lives in squalor in a a six by nine foot hut in Kenya.

Obamas Donated Less Than 1% of Their 2000-2004 Income (Update4)

By Ryan J. Donmoyer and Julianna Goldman

March 25 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave $10,772 of the $1.2 million they earned from 2000 through 2004 to charities, or less than 1 percent, according to tax returns for those years released today by his campaign.

The Obamas increased the amount they gave to charity when their income rose in 2005 and 2006 after the Illinois senator published a bestselling book. The $137,622 they gave over those two years amounted to more than 5 percent of their $2.6 million income.

The Obamas believe in a brand of liberal "charity" where someone else's money is on the line.

Walz Campaign Spreading Lies About Davis' Tax Plan

Walz Campaign Flounders While Spreading Lies
Can't Get Away with Attacks on Davis

For Immediate Release
October 28, 2009
Contact: Michael Spellings
507.424.2010

Rochester - After Tim Walz's unsuccessful attempt to fool the people of southern Minnesota into believing Brian Davis wants to increase the national sales tax, ABC News Channel 6 Rochester reported, "Davis says this tax would replace all other taxes thereby putting money back into the wallets of the people who need it most." This is the fact about the "Fair Tax" the Walz campaign doesn't want citizens to know.

Since the truth would tarnish the Walz campaign's attack on Brian Davis, the people are left to rely on news outlets like Channel 6 to illustrate the facts. In an attack unworthy of a United States Congressman, Tim Walz conveniently leaves out the fact that the "Fair Tax" would be a sales tax on consumer goods, which don't include things like groceries or used cars, and eliminate all taxes from the
federal government - the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) would cease to exist, including the need to file tax returns.

Speaking about the false claims from the Walz campaign, Davis Campaign Manager Mike Spellings stated, "This attack simply relieves Tim Walz and his campaign from any credibility they may have held coming into this election. I can't imagine why they think they can get away with telling less than half of the story here - I would personally be embarrassed to make these claims - it took the media a matter of hours to reveal how petty and false this attack is."

Spellings continued, "What Tim Walz and his campaign don't want the people to know is A. Brian stated the Fair Tax is a 'good idea' but never said he supported it or would vote for it and B. the 'Fair Tax' would eliminate all federal taxes and people would only be taxed on what they spend. In other words, when a worker is told they will be paid three thousand dollars a month, they will actually get three thousand dollars, not what the government leaves for them to spend or invest."

Davis has previously indicated he would like to see the Fair Tax studied further before he would lend his support to it. Presently, the Fair Tax is supported by at least 60 Congressmen, and is designed to allow citizens to control exactly how much in taxes they will pay. Under the Fair Tax, the federal government would have no authority to take any funds from an American's paycheck. The Walz campaign has deliberately and falsely described the Fair Tax as if it would be levied in addition to federal taxes - a message that fails the truth test on the first read of what the Fair Tax plan includes.

Happy Liberal Halloween!

"The image of a hanged black man is a lot more intense than the image of a hanged white woman, for our country and the history of our country."

-- West Hollywood resident Chad Morisette, whose Halloween decorations include a mannequin of Sarah Palin hanging by the neck from a noose, who also muses that if the scene had feature Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, "there might have been more outrage and maybe even vandalism to the home."

A mannequin dressed as Sarah Palin is hanging from a roof in West Hollywood, CA and is causing a stir.
Monday, October 27, 2008

Some laugh and others just stop and stare...it's a Halloween decoration showing a mannequin dressed as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a West Hollywood home.

The mannequin is dressed in brunet wig, glasses and a red business suit. Another mannequin dressed as John McCain emerges from a flaming chimney.

Chad Michael Morisette, who lives in the house, told KCBS-TV that drivers and bus passengers have been stopping to snap pictures of the macabre scene.

Morisette says the effigy would be out of bounds at any other time of year, but it's withinthe spirit of Halloween. He tells KCBS "it should be seen as art, and as within the month of October. It's Halloween, it's time to be scary it's time to be spooky.

How "artistic" would it have been to hang a mannequin dressed like Obama or Hillary by a noose? Would liberals have taken it "within the spirit of Halloween?" I would like to think not.

Obama Campaign: Softball Questions Only, Or Else

posted by halboedeker on Oct 24, 2008
11:12:15 AM
WFTV-Channel 9's Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. A friend says it's some of the best entertainment he's seen recently. What do you think?

West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama's comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn't being a Marxist with the "spreading the wealth" comment.

"Are you joking?" said Biden, who is Obama's running mate. "No," West said.

West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America's days as the world's leading power were over.

"I don't know who's writing your questions," Biden shot back.

Biden so disliked West's line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.

"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

So much for truth, honesty and transparency. An Obama administration would not allow anyone to question its actions and decisions. Those who think otherwise, even the media who may have helped to elect them to power, will be sanctioned.

Palin and the Pope

Sarah Palin is invited to meet with the Pope while he is vacationing south of Rome in Venice. The Pope asks Governor Palin to join him on a Gondola ride through the canals of Venice.

They're admiring the sights and agreeing on moral issues when all of a sudden the Pope's hat (zucchetto) blows off his head and out into the water. The gondolier starts to reach for the Pontiff's hat with his pole, but this move threatens to overturn the floating craft. Sarah waves the tour guide off, saying, 'Wait, wait. I'll take care of this. Don't worry.'

She steps off the gondola onto the surface of the water and walks out to the Pope's hat, bends over and picks it up. She walks back across the water to the gondola and steps aboard. She hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence.

The next morning the topic of conversation among the Red Star, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, CNN, the New York Times, MSNBC, Hollywood celebrities, and in France and Germany is...

Anger Management

This is why I moderate the comments that people send to this site.

(Anonymous) 2:22 AM

You pathetic coward.

What makes you so scared, Othelmo? Facts? The truth? Reality?

You want to run for school board? Fine. Guess what - using words like "liberal brownshirts" and "Krystallnacht" in a public online forum don't come without a price.

Some of us remember what they mean. They're not just words, you immature sh*thead. Go ahead, keep saying them.

They're part of public record now.

Sleep tight, mother******.

Wow. I have seen such rabid rage before. It has been chronicled
here , here and here. This one takes the cake, however.

I find it ironic that someone who posts anonymously at 2:22 in the morning calls anyone a "coward."

The intemperate comment above was posted about an hour after my analysis of Joe the Plumber's effect on the presidential campaign and was a "reply" to it.

I'm not sure of what "facts,""truth" or "reality" I'm
supposedly "scared." In his uncontrolled rage, the angry grasshopper above failed to mention what they are. Maybe he's cooled off by now, hopefully after a much needed anger management therapy session, and will expound on his nonsensical statement, under his own name, with a bit more clarity and rationality. Nah!

I wonder what the "price" of free speech in a fr
ee society is. I am familiar with the cost of free speech in an authoritarian society, though. As most of my readers may know, I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The year after I was born, the Brazilian military staged a coup which would last 20 years. Civil liberties were suspended overnight. Thousands were imprisoned. Many were never seen or heard from again after their arrest. Even after the military had consolidated their power, known dissenters were abducted in broad daylight.

Brazilian military coup, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, March 31, 1964

Free speech is foundational to the American system of government. I will not be silenced. Threats or not. Live with it. Intimidation is a cowardly tactic of the left to suppress dissent. The Obama campaign and its lawyers do it as a matter of course as I have discussed here and here.

Anyone who does not like what I write is free not to read it. Like a moth to a flame, however, some liberals are irresistibly drawn to "Paleocon Strikes!" I refer them to the disclaimer in the header above. Professional help in the form of anger management therapy is highly recommended as an alternative to reading my blog.

I started this blog as a means of venting my frustration over the lies and misrepresentations of the American left. I didn't know what to do with that frustration until I decided to start blogging in 2006. You can read my first post here. It is a dissertation on illegal immigration from the perspective of
a legal immigrant who passionately loves America or as Barack and Michelle Obama would say it, "this country."

Speaking of anger management issues, I wonder what price the anonymous author of the diatribe above thinks former SNL cast member, Air Amerika radio talk show host and DFL-endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken should pay for cheating on his taxes in 17 states, defrauding his own employees of their workers' compensation benefits as well as making a living out of writing pornography and jokes about rape and incest.

As for my run for school board, you can find out more about it at www.othelmo.org. You won't find any pornography, inappropriate jokes or foul language there. They would only commend me to the angry poster if I happened to be a liberal, which is definitely not the case.

I want to win Rochester School Board seat 7. As I state on my campaign site, my elementary school age children are a daily reminder of where the Rochester School Board's priorities must reside. But if I don't, you can bet I won't go into a year-long funk or refuse to call whoever is elected to congratulate him or her or misdirect my anger toward some lowly conservative blogger far away in Rochester, MN. That would truly be immature.

Joe the Plumber: the Liberals' "Public Enemy #1"

Joe Wurzelbacher's exchange with Barack Obama last weekend in Ohio may tip the balance of this presidential election in John McCain's favor.

Ask Barack Obama a pointed question and see what happens. Particularly if you ask him a question that exposes his socialist roots, rattles his campaign and shakes its fraudulent foundations.

"Joe the Plumber" did something that all "negative" ads against Obama have fallen short of doing so far: exposing the practical economic dangers of the liberal Democrat presidential nominee's economic plan. As a result, liberals hate Joe even more irrationally than they hate Alaska Governor and Republican presidential running mate Sarah Palin. Well, maybe not AS irrationally as they hate Palin, but pretty close.

Barack Obama's door-knocking photo-op stunt last weekend in Ohio backfired badly when he met Samuel Joseph
Wurzelbacher, now internationally known as "Joe the Plumber." Joe is planning to buy the plumbing business where he is employed and was concerned that Obama's tax proposals would be financially detrimental to his business enterprise.

Get Obama to talk long enough and the truth will come out when he runs out of lies. After trying to bamboozle 'Joe the Plumber' into believing his tax plan would not punish his future business venture, Obama finally admitted that, as president, he would "spread the wealth around," meaning he will take money from productive, entrepreneurial individuals like Joe and give it to others who are neither as ambitious nor as industrious. Here is a snipet of the now infamous meeting between the hustling socialist presidential candidate and the prospective business owner.

It was bad enough for Joe among liberal Obamalovers when the week-old incidental meeting proved disastrous for their lord and savior Obamessiah the Divine, but then Joe had to go on national TV and label Obama's tax policies "socialist," saying that Obama was "just another guy peddling his viewpoint" and finding himself "disappointed" in the liberal Democrat presidential candidate's presence. Stating that he resents Barack Obama's plan to take more away from him put a bulls eye on Joe's back.

And you know what happens when you tell the truth about the Obamessiah. "Joe the Plumber" is now one of the most vilified and ridiculed individuals in in American history. The MSM (Moribund Mainstream Media), which has been long in the sack for Obama, is now gunning for Joe. All of a sudden, Joe is the issue, not Obama's wealth redistribution scheme. Recent headlines have revealed that:
  • "Joe the Plumber" is not a licensed plumber
  • "Joe the Plumber" owes back taxes
  • "Joe the Plumber" is a Republican plant
  • (This one is my favorite so far) "Joe the Plumber's" real name is not "Joe." (His given name is SAMUEL Joseph Wurzelbacher)
Pathetic. None of those things disqualify Joe's honest question or justify Obama's wealth redistribution answer. The MSM has spent more time researching Joe's life in a week than Barack Obama's radical socialist beliefs and anti-American associations in the last twenty months of the presidential campaign. The ruinous consequences of an Obama presidency would be as much their fault as the Obamafraud's himself.

What incentive is there for people to better themselves, buy and grow a business if Che Obama is waiting on the other side to take away the fruits of their labor and give it to others who never bother? Absolutely none. So, thank you, "Joe the Plumber" for inadvertently exposing Barack Obama for the socialist fraud that he has always been.

Obama's Marching Orders: "GET IN THEIR FACE!

Here's a timely reminder of what hate really looks like. And this footage is from back in September. I don't recall hearing any condemnations from the Obamamedia regarding "hateful rhetoric" at Obama's rallies. Does anyone? How did MSNBC's Keith Olbermann miss this?

Get in your friend's, neighbor's and Republican's faces? GET IN THEIR FACE? Argue with them? ARGUE? Damage relationships for the sake of Obama? Such arrogance from Obama, the "Uniter."

Biden's Letter Count

Imagine the MSM uproar if McCain or Palin had done the same. I think it's safe to assume that Joe Biden won't be making any guest appearances on "Sesame Street" any time soon.

More Lies from the Obamamedia

Secret Service Says "Kill Him" Allegation Unfounded

By Andrew M. Seder

Staff Writer

SCRANTON – The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.

The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Obama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him."

News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.

Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.

“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.

He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.

It figures. One of the many lies that Obama told during the debate had to do with this story. The characterization that Republican rallies, particularly running mate Sarah Palin's, are Obama hatefests is patently untrue as this story clearly shows. I wonder if the Secret Service will charge Mr. Singleton. They should.

Moreover, I doubt that Olbermann and all other media liars in the sack for Obama will report the findings of the Secret Service.

Dow Rebounds Big: Sends Shudders Through the Obama Campaign!

Dow rises record 936 points in stunning reversal
Like a roller coaster at the bottom of a hill, stocks reversed their slide today and soared skyward at dizzying speed, recovering about half their losses of the past week and giving investors large and small some hope that their 401(k)s, pension funds and private portfolios might yet be worth something more than the price of a ham sandwich by year's end.

The Dow Jones industrial average shot upward a stunning 936 points -- a record one-day point gain -- to close at 9,387.61. By day's end, investors had regained $1.2 trillion of the estimated $2.4 trillion in shareholder value wiped out last week, according to the Dow Jones Wilshire 5000 Composite Index, which represents nearly all stocks traded in America.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index rebounded from its worst week in 75 years with a 104-point gain, also a record, to close at 1,003.35. The Nasdaq rose 195 points to close at 1,844.25.

All three indexes were up more than 11 percent for the day. But full recovery was still a dream; as of Friday, the Dow and the S&P 500 were down more than 40 percent from their peaks last October, when the Dow closed at a high of 14,164. [More]

WASHINGTON — The Treasury Department, in its boldest move yet, is expected to announce a plan on Tuesday to invest up to $250 billion in banks, according to officials. The United States is also expected to guarantee new debt issued by banks for three years — a measure meant to encourage the banks to resume lending to one another and to customers, officials said.

And the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation will offer an unlimited guarantee on bank deposits in accounts that do not bear interest — typically those of businesses — bringing the United States in line with several European countries, which have adopted such blanket guarantees.

The Dow Jones industrial average gained 936 points, or 11 percent, the largest single-day gain in the American stock market since the 1930s. The surge stretched around the globe: in Paris and Frankfurt, stocks had their biggest one-day gains ever, responding to news of similar multibillion-dollar rescue packages by the French and German governments.

Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. outlined the plan to nine of the nation’s leading bankers at an afternoon meeting, officials said. He essentially told the participants that they would have to accept government investment for the good of the American financial system.

Of the $250 billion, which will come from the $700 billion bailout approved by Congress, half is to be injected into nine big banks, including Citigroup, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Goldman SAchs and JPMorgan Chase, officials said. The other half is to go to smaller banks and thrifts. The investments will be structured so that the government can benefit from a rebound in the banks’ fortunes. [More]

It's a fateful day in America when the government succumbs to socialism. Where in the Constitution doe is state that it is the duty of government to offer unlimited guarantees on debts issued by banks and business bank accounts? I don't see any plans for government to divest itself of such "investments" once the financial crisis abates. Does anyone?

Financing Voter Fraud: Obama Donated $832,598 to ACORN

Obama's campaign money finances voter fraud

Obama camp downplays ACORN payments

S.A. Miller (Contact)
Friday, October 10, 2008

Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama's campaign distanced itself Thursday from its $800,000 payment linked to the liberal ACORN organization, which is under investigation in several states where it is suspected of filing fraudulent voter registrations.

Federal Election Commission reports show ACORN-affiliated Citizens Services Inc. got $832,598 from the Obama campaign for get-out-the-vote work during the primaries. But those payments stopped in May and the Obama campaign says they should not be an election issue.
"This is going to be an historic election with unprecedented voter participation, and we are committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process,"

Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro said. "We support local officials in their efforts to investigate any fraudulent behavior and the full prosecution of any illegal activities."
Still, the contributions to Citizens Services draw the Obama campaign closer to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, and the growing voter-fraud scandal that this week spread to the battleground state of Ohio.

The elections board in Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland, is reviewing about 65,000 voter cards submitted by ACORN after flagging 50 cards filled out for duplicate names, fictitious addresses, noncitizens and recycled names and addresses of currently registered voters, said board spokesman Mike West.

Similar probes reportedly are under way in other large Ohio counties.[
More]

It's about victory at any cost for Obamaniacs. The Obama campaign has reached a new low by financing ACORN's election fraud initiatives. How low will Obama go? Keep watching. He hasn't reached bottom yet.

McCain Letter Demanded 2006 Action on Fannie and Freddie
by
Human Events
10/10/2008

Sen. John McCain's 2006 demand for regulatory action on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could have prevented current financial crisis, as HUMAN EVENTS learned from the letter shown in full text below.

McCain's letter -- signed by nineteen other senators -- said that it was "...vitally important that Congress take the necessary steps to ensure that [Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac]...operate in a safe and sound manner.[and]..More importantly, Congress must ensure that the American taxpayer is protected in the event that either...should fail."

Sen. Obama did not sign the letter, nor did any other Democrat.

See the text of McCain's letter here.

Tim Walz's Double Life

I have said it for years, liberal Democrats sing one song in the district and quite another when they are palling around with the leadership of their party. While in the district, they talk like us and say they believe like us. When they return to the Capitol or to D.C., they couldn't be less like the folks back home. Tim Walz is no different.

Barack "Osama": Freudian Slip?

Barack 'Osama' on Rensselaer County Ballots
Election officials on both sides of aisle insist error on absentee ballots was a typo

TROY — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's last name is spelled "Osama" on hundreds of absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County.

Officials say the flawed ballots were sent to approximately 300 voters. On row 1A Barack Obama's name is spelled Barack Osama.

Is it a Freudian slip, intentional act or a mistake? Voters are sure to have opinions, and one pol pointed out that the letters 's' and 'b' are not exactly keyboard neighbors.

But even the county Democratic election commissioner is apologizing for what he calls a terrible mistake.[More]

Town Hall Presidential Debate

8:06: Obama just got done spewing his canned answer blaming President Bush and Senator McCain for the current financial crisis.

8:07: McCain wants to stabilize home prices in America.

8:09: Treasury Secretary suggestions. Warren Buffet's name comes up.

8:10: Obama says "prosperity won't trickle down." Proposes middle class tax cut for 95% of working Americans.

8:11: Question about bailout. How is it going to help? McCain says he suspended his campaign to make sure there were taxpayer protections in the bill. Brings up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack. Blames Obama's "cronies" for protecting Fannie and Freddie from regulation. Talks about Fannie and Freddie's campaign contributions to Obama.

Obama: markets frozen up, small businesses can't take loans, if they can't take loans, they can't make payroll. (Are businesses taking loans to make payroll now?) Obama rewriting history to make himself look like he was on the case two years ago. Bailout is the beginning of the process.

8:16: Is the American economy going to get worse before it gets better? Obama says he has "confidence" in the economy. Talks about "coordinating with other countries" to make sure the package works. McCain advocates buying up bad loans so people can renegotiate their mortgages. Obama's name not on letter McCain wrote regarding the looming financial crisis.

8:18: Question to Obama: How can we trust both of you when both parties got us into this global economic crisis? Obama: enough blame to go around but remember a little bit of history. Starts to blame President Bush for the current deficit and debt. Biggest increases in deficit spending and national debt in the last eight years. Reform health care, deal with energy, invest in college affordability. Claims to be proposing more cuts than spending.

McCain: "The system in Washington is broken and I have been a consistent reformer." Touts clear record of bipartisanship. Obama hasn't taken the leaders of his party on any issue. Look at record, not rhetoric. Obama's is the biggest liberal, big spending record in the Senate. Obama voted for every spending increase. Get middle income Americans to start working again.

Brokaw: What will be your highest priorities in office?

McCain: Reform entitlement programs. We are not going to be able to provide benefits at the same level we have in the past. All of the above approach to energy. Health care. Compeling national security issues. All need to be worked on at once.

Obama: prioritize. Energy cost bad for economy and national security. Investment of $15 billion a year. Energy independence in ten years. Priority two: health care. Bad for families and less competitive. Education next. Claims McCain wants to give tax cuts to Big Oil.

Brokaw: What sacrifices will you ask every American to make?

McCain: Eliminate programs that are not working. Defense spending would be a target. Eliminate earmarks. Good projects should be eliminated as well. Spending freeze with the exception of defense, veterans' affairs and other selected programs. We can get it all done.

Obama: remember 9/11 (I thought we were not supposed to exploit 9/11). Criticizes President Bush for telling people to "go shop" after 9/11. American people hungry for leadership. Provide incentives to buy energy-efficient cars made in America. Doubling the Peace Corps.

8:33: Brokaw: How would you break the habit of bad debt?

Obama: government should provide the example. People don't feel they are sharing the burden with other folk. Unfair to ask a teacher making $30,000 to make sacrifices while there are people living "high on the hog."

McCain: 300,000 jobs created by small business. Obama's tax proposals will harm small businesses. Let's not raise anybody's taxes. Leave taxes rates alone. Double tax exemption for kids to $7,000.

Obama: Gets testy after McCain's reply and tries to bend the rules agreed to by both campaigns.

8:30: Brokaw: Would you give Congress a date certain to fix Medicare?

Obama: Can't guarantee it will be done quickly, in his "first term as president." Entitlements mus be dealt with in terms of revenue. Tax cuts to 95% of Americans. "Vast majority" of small business will get a tax cut. Claims McCain's plan will give $300 billion to big business.

McCain: It's not that hard to fix Social Security. Sit across the table. Reagan and O'Neill have done. Obama hasn't taken on his party leadership, I have. Don't let Congress fiddle anymore. Do it. Obama has voted over 90 times to raise taxes. I have fought to renew government.

8:42: Question for McCain: What would you do in the first year to make sure government moves fast on energy and the environment?

McCain: Nuclear power is safe and clean. It creates thousands of jobs. Reprocessed nuclear fuel is a safe reality in Japan, France and elsewhere.

Obama: One of the biggest challenges of our time. Also and opportunity. Creating a new energy economy would "easily" create 5 million jobs in America. It will require an "investment." Now claims he favors nuclear energy. Claims McCain has voted against alternative energy 26 times. We can't drill our way out of the problem.

McCain: Energy bill with pork barrel filled with "goodies" on the floor of the Senate. Obama voted for it, McCain voted against it.

8:49: Question to Obama: Do you believe health care should be treated as a commodity?

Obama: Health care is "breaking" family budgets. Premiums doubled over the last eight years. Claims Americans can keep their health care if they are happy with it. Ability to buy the same kind of coverage he and McCain have.

McCain: Reduce medical errors, establish walk-in health clinics. Obama will impose mandates. If you are a parent who does not provide health care to children will be fine. McCain's plan would enable people to buy insurance across state lines. American people will have a choice regarding the kind of health care plan they need. Health care is a responsibility.

Obama: Health care should be a right. You can keep the health care you have if you like it. You are going to have to "make sure" your child has health care. Regarding government intrusion: crack down on companies that are gouging consumers.

8:59: Question for McCain: Effect of financial crisis on America's ability to be a peace maker in the world.

McCain: America is the greatest force for good in the history of the world. We have shed blood in defense of the freedom of others.Where can America make a difference regarding genocide and terrorism. Obama was wrong on the surge in Iraq. There's not time for on-the-job training.

Obama: Questions McCain's judgment. Panders to troops. We need the $10 billion being spend in Iraq every month to create jobs in America. We don't have the resources and allies to address other problems.

9:04: Question of use of force when America doesn't have issues of national security at stake.

Obama: When genocide is happening and we stand idly by, that diminishes us. We are not going to be everywhere all the time. Importance of working in concert with allies.

McCain: Senator Obama would have brought our troops home from Iraq in defeat. Intervention involves understanding what our limitations are. How can we beneficially affect the situation?

9:08: Should we respect Pakistani borders?

Obama: "We" didn't do a good job of pursuing al-Qaida. Reverse course. End the war in Iraq and concentrate in Afghanistan. Encourage democracy in Pakistan. We will kill bin Laden. We will destroy al-Qaida.

McCain: Our mistake was to wash our hands of Afghanistan after the Russians left. Get the support of the Pakistani people and turn against the Taliban, not threatening to attack them.

Argument about follow-ups.

Obama: "What I said was," if Pakistan is willing or unable to take out bin Laden, we should.

McCain: I understand what it means to send soldiers into harm's way. I'm not going to telegraph my punches like Senator Obama has.

9:16: Brokaw: How do you reorganize Pakistan strategy?

Obama: Withdraw troops from Iraq in a "responsible" way. Our bases and outposts are being attacked and need more help.

McCain: General Patreus will set the tone for the strategy. Double the size of the Afghan army, work closely with Pakistan, streamline NATO. Improving security will improve lives in Afghanistan.

How can we apply pressure to Russia on humanitarian issues without starting another cold war.

McCain: Russia's behavior outside of acceptable parameters. Looked into Putin's eyes and saw three letters: a "K," a "G," and a "B." Make Russians understand there are consequences to invasions and threats.

Obama: Ressurgent of Russia one of the central issues to deal with in the next presidency. Provide financial assistance to former Soviet Union provinces. (More spending overseas. Predictable.) Part of the job of the next president is to anticipate threats.

9:23: Is Russian under Putin the "Evil Empire?"

Obama: Russia has exhibited evil behavior.

McCain: We can deal with them. They need to understand they will face a determined America.

9:25: Would you be willing to commit troops if Iran attacked Israel?

McCain: We would not wait for Security Council permission. Iranians continue on the path of pursuing nuclear weapons. Potential to destibilize the whole region. Obama want to meet with Iranians without preconditions. Impose sanctions to modify their behavior. We can never allow a second Holocaust to take place.

Obama: We can not allow Iran to get nuclear weapons. Parrots McCain's answer. Changes his story regarding meeting with hostile countries without preconditions.

9:29: Last question: What don't you know and how will you learn it?

Obama: Michelle could give you a longer list. Nature of challenges is immense. It's not the challenges you expect but the ones you don't that consume most of your time. "This country" gave me opportunities. Came from humble means. Over the last eight years the American Dream has diminished. Fundamental change, blah, blah, blah.

McCain: What I don't know is what is going to happen here and abroad. New and different challenges. I have spent my whole life defending this country. I believe in this country and its future. I will rest on my record. Times are tough and we need a steady hand at the tiller. Country first.

Barney and Herb, Freddie and Fannie

'These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis. The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''

-- Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts in September 2003, fighting regulation and oversight of Fannie and Freddie

Media Mum on Barney Frank's Fannie Mae Love Connection

Democratic House Financial Services Committee Chair promoted GSEs while former 'spouse' was Fannie Mae executive.

Are journalists playing favorites with some of the key political figures involved with regulatory oversight of U.S. financial markets?

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews launched several vitriolic attacks on the Republican Party on his Sept. 17, 2008, show, suggesting blame for Wall Street problems should be focused in a partisan way. However, he and other media have failed to thoroughly examine the Democratic side of the blame game.

Prominent Democrats ran Fannie Mae, the same government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) that donated campaign cash to top Democrats. And one of Fannie Mae’s main defenders in the House – Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., a recipient of more than $40,000 in campaign donations from Fannie since 1989 – was once romantically involved with a Fannie Mae executive.

The media coverage of Frank’s coziness with Fannie Mae and his pro-Fannie Mae stances has been lacking. Of the eight appearances Frank made on the three broadcasts networks between Jan. 1, 2008, and Sept. 21, 2008, none of his comments dealt with the potential conflicts of interest. Only six of the appearances dealt with the economy in general and two of those appearances, including an April 6, 2008 appearance on CBS’s “60 Minutes” were about his opposition to a manned mission to Mars.

Frank has argued that family life “should be fair game for campaign discussion,” wrote the Associated Press on Sept. 2. The comment was in reference to GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her pregnant daughter. “They’re the ones that made an issue of her family,” the Massachusetts Democrat said to the AP.

The news media have covered the relationship in the past, but there have been no mentions since 2005, according to Nexis and despite the collapse of Fannie Mae. The July 3, 1998, Reliable Source column in The Washington Post reported Frank, who is openly gay, had a relationship with Herb Moses, an executive for the now-government controlled Fannie Mae. The column revealed the two had split up at the time but also said Frank was referring to Moses as his “spouse.” Another Washington Post report said Frank called Moses his “lover” and that the two were “still friends” after the breakup.

Frank was and remains a stalwart defender of Fannie Mae, which is now under FBI investigation along with its sister organization Freddie Mac, American International Group Inc. (NYSE:AIG) and Lehman Brothers (NYSE:LEH) – all recently participants in government bailouts. But Frank has derailed efforts to regulate the institution, as well as denying it posed any financial risk. Frank’s office has been unresponsive to efforts by the Business & Media Institute to comment on these potential conflicts of interest.

Whose fault is it again?

Run, Walz, Run!

Hillary: Palin "Very Composed and Effective Debater"

"It's amazing, you know, she's been thrust into the national spotlight with very little preparation and I think that, all things considered, you saw a very composed and effective debater last night."

-- Jilted running mate Hillary Clinton on Sarah Palin's vice presidential debate performance.

It looks like Bill is not the only Clinton trying to undermine the liberal Obamafraud/Hair Plugs presidential ticket. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

VP Debate: Advantage, Palin

Biden looked like he had been medicated and hour or so before the debate. The MSM reaction was that Sarah Palin stood toe to toe with Hair Plugs. Up until the debate started, the “conventional (i.e. liberal) wisdom” was that Palin was going to implode and bring the Republican ticket down with her. Nothing could have been further from the truth.

KTTC showed reaction from local Republican and Democratic debate parties in town. Republicans were universally pleased with Palin. Liberals, not so with Biden. Olmsted County DFL chair Lynn Wilson looked bitter and downcast when interviewed. But then again, what's new.

What struck me during the debate as one of the main and perhaps the pettiest reason why liberals don't like Governor Sarah Palin is her beauty queen looks. I mean, really. How many female elected officials are physically attractive?

Go, Sarah!

Biden’s performance and liberties with “the facts” reminded me of a Mark Twain quote:

“Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.”

Biden is a stranger to both facts and the truth. Apparently his memory is faltering as well. One of my favorite Palin zingers was when she said that Biden dismissed Obama as inexperienced, naive and “not ready” to be president until he was tapped to be the Obamafraud’s running mate. Biden is a self-serving hypocrite.

Democrats: "Party of Death?"

Vatican official attacks U.S. Democrats as “party of death”

October 1, 2008
Posted by: Phil Stewart

Vatican officials seldom single out political leaders who differ with the Church on issues like abortion rights or embryonic stem cell research. But now that the Vatican’s highest court is led by an American, the former St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke, we can expect things to get more explicit in Vatican City — at least when when it comes to U.S. politics.

Burke, who was named prefect of the Vatican’s Supreme Court of the Apostolic Signature in June, told the Italian Catholic newspaper Avvenire that the U.S. Democratic Party risked “transforming itself definitively into a party of death for its decisions on bioethical issues.” He then attacked two of the party’s most high profile Catholics — vice presidential candidate Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Polosi — for misrepresenting Church teaching on abortion.

He said Biden and Pelosi, “while presenting themselves as good Catholics, have presented Church doctrine on abortion in a false and tendentious way.”

Wow! What an indictment.

PBS Vice Presidential Debate Moderator In the Sack for Obama

VP Debate Moderator Writing Obama Book
News of the revelation has created concern about her ability to be unbias during Thursday's vice presidential debate.
Wednesday, October 1, 2008

It has been revealed that vice presidential debate moderator Gwen Ifill of PBS is penning a book about Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama called "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama."

News of the revelation has created concern about her ability to be unbias during Thursday's vice presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin.

In the book Ifill, who is African-American, reportedly says that the black political structure of the civil rights movement has cleared the way for post-racial politicians to ascend to new heights. The book is scheduled to be released around the inauguration.

This is beyond shameful.
