To Sir: Where is the Love?

Rochester, MN, Willow Creek Middle School EBD Teacher Scott McDonald has no love for the Tea Party Movement. Last Friday he sent the following email to all of his fellow Independent School District 535 instructors:

From: MACDONALD, SCOTT
Sent: Fri 4/9/2010 12:06 PM
To: *ELEMENTARY TCHRS; *MIDDLE SCHOOL TCHRS; *HIGH SCHOOL TCHRS
Subject: Protest

If you are interested in combating the lies and ignorance of the Tea Party Movement, they have scheduled a rally April 15th at 5:30 pm at Soldier’s Field of all places. I will have an air horn and a few extra signs to spare but feel free to bring your own. Hope to see you there.

Problem is, McDonald used the school district's email system to disseminate his politically charged message. The Rochester P-B reports that Superintendent Romain Dallemand "plans to investigate the matter." We'll see. This is further evidence of the power of the Tea Party Movement and how unhinged the opposition has become.

Parenthetically, I think it's funny that McDonald would have "a few extra signs to spare." Astroturf, anyone?
