Those Who Can't

It's hard to believe but true. The Rochester School District has hired Rep. Andy Welti (DFL-30B) as a temporary, part-time American Government and Economics teacher. That's on paper. In reality, Welti will be teaching Disingenuous Liberalism 101. You know, the kind that throws the words "bipartisan" and "moderate" around like they really believe or act on them.
A teacher in the Dover-Eyota School District, where Welti used to sub, told me that students complained that all Welti did during classes was talk about himself and about running for office. Fortunately, his assignment with the Rochester School District only lasts until the end of the fall semester. Still, he could do a lot of damage and spread a lot of misinformation during that time.
I wonder if Welti is going to talk about his legislative crown jewel, HF522, which criminalizes the possession of glass containers on the waters of the state.
Welti is an unfortunate validation of the saying, "Those who can't, teach."

Done In For

"I would."
- Senator Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL) during the Youtube debate when asked if he would meet, without precondition, with Cuban, North Korean, Syrian, Venezuelan and Iranian leaders during his first year in office.

This was a major gaffe on the part of Senator Obama and I doubt he will recover from it. Hillary pounced on his answer as if on cue. "I don't want to be used for propaganda purposes," Hillary said.

Back in February, while campaigning in New Hampshire, Bill Clinton's wife was whistling a different tune, however. "You don't refuse to talk to bad people. I think life is filled with uncomfortable situations where you have to deal with people you might not like. I'm sort of an expert on that. I have consistently urged the president to talk to Iran and talk to Syria. I think it's a sign of strength, not weakness." Obama couldn't agree more. Then and now.

Hillary is a sociopath. She has no credibility whatsoever on the issue of dealing with rogue nations. Heck, she has no credibility on foreign policy. Period!

By the way, didn't Hillary vote FOR the Iraq war?

Say It Ain't So, Dennis!

Kucinich: Edwards 'Trying to Rig an Election'

An angry Dennis Kucinich lashed out at John Edwards on Friday, saying his Democratic rival showed "a consistent lack of integrity" by suggesting fewer candidates should participate in presidential forums and then trying to explain his remark to reporters.

"This is a serious matter and I'm calling him on it," Kucinich, an Ohio congressman, said in a telephone interview Friday. "Whispering, trying to rig an election, then denying what's going on and making excuses. It all reflects a consistent lack of integrity."

Kucinich's comments came after Edwards and Hillary Rodham Clinton were overheard Thursday discussing the possibility of limiting the number of participants in future presidential forums.

In an exchange captured on camera and open microphone by broadcasters after an NAACP forum in Detroit, Edwards approached Clinton onstage and whispered in her ear.

"We should try to have a more serious and a smaller group," Edwards said, and Clinton agreed.

"Our guys should talk," Clinton said, complaining the format had "trivialized" the discussion.

When asked about the incident, Clinton and Edwards gave conflicting accounts. Hillary "Our Guys Should Talk" Clinton, believe it or not, shirked responsibility. "I think [Edwards] has some ideas about what he'd like to do," she said as if she disagreed with Edwards. If that is the case, what should "their guys" talk about?

Edwards is not as good a liar as Hillary. Heck, no one is as good a liar as Hillary. Between $1,000 haircuts, Edwards said that he favors dividing the Democrats into two groups of four to facilitate more "serious discussion" so people would better see the contrast among the Democrat candidates. Right. I'm shocked, SHOCKED! that liberals Democrats would even think about rigging an election.
I never thought I would ever agree with Dennis Kucinich about anything, but he has a point when he says that Hillary and Edwards show a "consistent lack of integrity" in this matter. As a matter of fact, their lack of integrity is so consistent that it affects every other matter, personal as well as political.
These people are not for a free, uninhibited exchange of ideas. They do not want to compete fairly for fear of losing. Back room deals and rigged games is how they function most effectively. The democratic process is a bother to the liberal elites, unless it serves their nefarious purposes.

Sheehan May Challenge Pelosi in Election

CRAWFORD, Texas (July 8) - Six weeks after announcing her departure from the peace movement, Cindy Sheehan said Sunday that she plans to run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks. Sheehan said she will run against the San Francisco Democrat in 2008 as an independent if Pelosi does not seek by July 23 to impeach Bush. That's when Sheehan and her supporters are to arrive in Washington, D.C., after a 13-day caravan and walking tour starting next week from the group's war protest site near Bush's Crawford ranch.

"Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership," Sheehan told The Associated Press. "We hired them to bring an end to the war. I'm not too far from San Francisco, so it wouldn't be too big of a move for me. I would give her a run for her money."

"Democrats and Americans?" It sounds like a Freudian slip to me. Is Cindy Sheehan inadvertently admitting that Democrats and Americans are not necessarily one and the same? Sure seems that way.

By the way, wasn't it less than two months ago that the War Mother announced she was going to stay away from the lights, cameras and microphones in order to spend more time with her family? Was she not hurt by the vicious attacks of the right as well as the left? Was she not turning her back on the anti-war movement "forever?" The awful, sad truth is that Cindy Sheehan's life has no meaning outside the anti-war, anti-Bush, anti-America movement. She will not find peace for as long as she chooses to engage hateful activities such as her caravan to Washington, D.C.

I hope, for her sake, that Mother Sheehan does not run against Pelosi. If she does, she will know what real hurt is.
