Walz and Shale Oil: Appaling Ignorance

The Rochester Post-Bulletin online forums have been on fire this week. The P-B's Political Party blog is always a hot spot where the perpetually boring LD Nelson and the sycophantic "Ollie Ox" spend their days and nights defending the indefensible Tim Walz.

News stories always generate lively debates as well. Often, sparks fly. Occasionally, a more thoughtful comment elicits a thoughtful response. It was so yesterday when a story on online outreach to voters hit the virtual stands. Here's a post from a newcomer to the P-B forums who goes by Jane Walters.

"Walz employing activists from the Cities, to post in forums and in blogs pretending to be from the 1st district, displays a lack of respect for the truth and his constituents’ ability to make the right decision."

Jane must be talking about Sally Jo "Ollie Ox" Sorensen of Bluestem Prairie infamy. She lives in District 7 but spends her days and nights in online propaganda mode for the fiscally irresponsible and out-of-touch Tim Walz.

This week, real First District candidate Brian Davis had this to say about Walz's appaling lack of knowledge regarding one of the most important issues concerning America's energy independence.
"Congressman Walz was the only member of Minnesota's Congressional delegation who did not give a clear answer regarding his position on development of shale oil. In addition he was unclear regarding his position on offshore drilling."
Liberals in full desperation mode regarding domestic drilling and energy independence. They find themselves squarely on the wrong side of the domestic oil drilling issue. Polling data indicate a growing majority of Americans support domestic oil exploration.

Tim Walz is often wrong but this time he is also ignorant. How embarrassing to be the ONLY member of Minnesota's Congressional delegation to sound like Barack "Uh" Obama on development of shale oil.

Maybe it's not completely Tim Walz's fault. Nancy Pelosi must not have told him what to think about shale oil exploration yet.

I feel for Walz. He's got to be distracted. It must be difficult to keep his mind on the job with a $75,000 credit card debt hanging over his family. Or perhaps he realizes he is way out of his league here. I mean, he's got to be thinking "How can First District voters trust me with the fiscal direction of the country when I can't even manage my own finances responsibly?"

It's time for real Congressional leadership in the First District. It's time for Brian Davis.
