Portrait of a Coward II

Obama backs pet projects and signs spending bill
By Philip Elliott, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama, sounding weary of criticism over federal earmarks, defended Congress' pet projects Wednesday as he signed an "imperfect" $410 billion measure with thousands of examples. But he said the spending does need tighter restraint and listed guidelines to do it. Obama, accused of hypocrisy by Republicans for embracing billions of dollars of earmarks in the legislation, said they can be useful and noted that he has promised to curb, not eliminate them.

On another potentially controversial matter, the president also issued a "signing statement" with the bill, saying several of its provisions raised constitutional concerns and would be taken merely as suggestions. He has criticized President George W. Bush for often using such statements to claim the right to ignore portions of new laws, and on Monday he said his administration wouldn't follow those issued by Bush unless authorized by the new attorney general.

White House officials have accused Bush of using the statements to get around Congress in pursuing anti-terror tactics.

Obama signed the bill in private, unlike a number of recent signings that took place with fanfare, but he raised the issue of earmarks in public remarks playing down their scope and possible harm in the measure. They comprise about 1 percent of the spending package, which will keep the government running through September, he told reporters.

"Done right, earmarks have given legislators the opportunity to direct federal money to worthy projects that benefit people in their districts. And that's why I've opposed their outright elimination," he said.

Why did President Barack Obama hide from view when signing the spending bill? Because he is a coward and a hypocrite.

Financing Voter Fraud: Obama Donated $832,598 to ACORN

Obama's campaign money finances voter fraud

Obama camp downplays ACORN payments

Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama's campaign distanced itself Thursday from its $800,000 payment linked to the liberal ACORN organization, which is under investigation in several states where it is suspected of filing fraudulent voter registrations.

Federal Election Commission reports show ACORN-affiliated Citizens Services Inc. got $832,598 from the Obama campaign for get-out-the-vote work during the primaries. But those payments stopped in May and the Obama campaign says they should not be an election issue.
"This is going to be an historic election with unprecedented voter participation, and we are committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process,"

Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro said. "We support local officials in their efforts to investigate any fraudulent behavior and the full prosecution of any illegal activities."
Still, the contributions to Citizens Services draw the Obama campaign closer to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, and the growing voter-fraud scandal that this week spread to the battleground state of Ohio.

The elections board in Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland, is reviewing about 65,000 voter cards submitted by ACORN after flagging 50 cards filled out for duplicate names, fictitious addresses, noncitizens and recycled names and addresses of currently registered voters, said board spokesman Mike West.

Similar probes reportedly are under way in other large Ohio counties.[

It's about victory at any cost for Obamaniacs. The Obama campaign has reached a new low by financing ACORN's election fraud initiatives. How low will Obama go? Keep watching. He hasn't reached bottom yet.

Obama the Opportunist

"Sen. Obama saw an economic crisis, and he's found a political opportunity. My friends, this is not a time for political opportunism; this is a time for leadership."
-- John McCain, on Tuesday, regarding Barack Obama's shameless attempt to take advantage of the collapse of investment institutions for political gain.

Don't expect leadership from Obama. On anything. You won't be disappointed.

Opportunism, on the other hand, is the Obamafraud's
forte. You will get plenty of it from him. That's how he got where he is today. His is a path paved with betrayal, broken promises, cowardice, shady financing from the likes of Tony Rezko, millionaire campaign contributions from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae as well as political support from unrepentant domestic terrorists and racial supremacists.

Obama: Ready to READ!

Obama delivered his remarks at the Colorado State Fair of a teleprompter.

(CNN) — It appears Barack Obama's teleprompter is hitting the campaign trail.

The Democratic presidential nominee has never tried to hide the fact he delivers speeches off the device, though normally he doesn't use one at standard campaign rallies and town hall events.

But the Illinois senator used a teleprompter at both his Colorado events Monday — making for a particularly peculiar scene in Pueblo, where the prompter was set up in the middle of what is normally a rodeo ring.

I really can't blame the Obamafraud for this one. Without a teleprompeter in front of him all you'd hear from the community organizer in chief is " I ... uh ... uh ... you see ... uh ... well ... uh ... uh ... what I said was ... uh ... pig ... uh ... moose shooter ... uh ... hopeandchange ... uh ... "
