Harry Reid: Socialist Racist Hypocrite

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and, his words, "light-skinned" African American and "Negro" dialect-free Barack Obama.

``There is this standard where the Democrats feel that they can say these things and they can apologize when it comes from the mouths of their own. But if it comes from anyone else, it's racism.''
~ Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele on reports that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) referred to then-Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as a "light-skinned" African-American who spoke without a "Negro dialect," unless he "wanted to have one."

G.O.P Chairman Pressures Reid on Obama Remarks

Published: January 10, 2010
Michael Steele, the Republican Party chairman, called Sunday for Harry Reid to step down as U.S. Senate majority leader in the wake of revelations of Mr. Reid’s remarks in 2008 about Barack Obama’s skin color and dialect.

A new book about the 2008 campaign quotes Mr. Reid as predicting that Mr. Obama could become the country’s first black president because he was “light-skinned” and had “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” On Saturday, the senator issued a public statement apologizing for the remark. He also expressed his regret for the comment in a phone call to Mr. Obama, who accepted his apology. But Mr. Steele, who is black, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that an apology was not enough and “there has to be a consequence” for “anachronistic language that hearkens backs to the 1950’s and 1960’s.” Asked by the moderator, David Gregory, whether that consequence should be Mr. Reid’s resignation as majority leader, Mr. Steele said, “I believe it is.”

The statement suggested that Republicans would not let the controversy pass quietly, while Democrats, from Mr. Obama himself to the Rev. Al Sharpton, worked to put the matter to rest.

“There’s a big double standard here,” Mr. Steele said. “When Democrats get caught saying racist things, you know an apology is enough.” He recalled that Trent Lott had stepped down as Republic majority leader in 2002 after making a racially tinged remark. Had a similar statement been made by Mitch McConell, the Senate minority leader, Democrats would be calling for his head, he said. Mr. Steele made many of the same statements on “Fox News Sunday.”

As if any further proof of the rampant racism that infects the Democrat Party at the highest levels was needed. Speaking of hypocrisy, it looks like Al Sharpton will give his bullhorn a break on this one.

Al Gore: Global Warming for Fun and Profit

Gore’s Dual Role in Spotlight: Advocate and Investor

WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Al Gore thought he had spotted a winner last year when a small California firm sought financing for an energy-saving technology from the venture capital firm where Mr. Gore is a partner.

The company, Silver Spring Networks, produces hardware and software to make the electricity grid more efficient. It came to Mr. Gore’s firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, one of Silicon Valley’s top venture capital providers, looking for $75 million to expand its partnerships with utilities seeking to install millions of so-called smart meters in homes and businesses.

Mr. Gore and his partners decided to back the company, and in gratitude Silver Spring retained him and John Doerr, another Kleiner Perkins partner, as unpaid corporate advisers.

The deal appeared to pay off in a big way last week, when the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in smart grid grants. Of the total, more than $560 million went to utilities with which Silver Spring has contracts. Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr. Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years.

Silver Spring Networks is a foot soldier in the global green energy revolution Mr. Gore hopes to lead. Few people have been as vocal about the urgency of global warming and the need to reinvent the way the world produces and consumes energy. And few have put as much money behind their advocacy as Mr. Gore and are as well positioned to profit from this green transformation, if and when it comes.

Critics, mostly on the political right and among global warming skeptics, say Mr. Gore is poised to become the world’s first “carbon billionaire,” profiteering from government policies he supports that would direct billions of dollars to the business ventures he has invested in.

Representative Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee, asserted at a hearing this year that Mr. Gore stood to benefit personally from the energy and climate policies he was urging Congress to adopt.

Mr. Gore says that he is simply putting his money where his mouth is.

“Do you think there is something wrong with being active in business in this country?” Mr. Gore said. “I am proud of it. I am proud of it.”

In an e-mail message this week, he said his investment activities were consistent with his public advocacy over decades.

“I have advocated policies to promote renewable energy and accelerate reductions in global warming pollution for decades, including all of the time I was in public service,” Mr. Gore wrote. “As a private citizen, I have continued to advocate the same policies. Even though the vast majority of my business career has been in areas that do not involve renewable energy or global warming pollution reductions, I absolutely believe in investing in ways that are consistent with my values and beliefs. I encourage others to invest in the same way.”

Mr. Gore has invested a significant portion of the tens of millions of dollars he has earned since leaving government in 2001 in a broad array of environmentally friendly energy and technology business ventures, like carbon trading markets, solar cells and waterless urinals.[More]

Al Gore is a bloated hypocrite who profits from the blatant lies and unfounded fears he instills in people who don't know any better.

Where in the World is Tim Walz Hiding? His Constitutents Have A Few Questions About Health Care Reform

Health Debate Turns Hostile at Town Hall Meetings

The bitter divisions over an overhaul of the health care system have exploded at town-hall-style meetings over the last few days as members of Congress have been shouted down, hanged in effigy and taunted by crowds. In several cities, noisy demonstrations have led to fistfights, arrests and hospitalizations.

Democrats have said the protesters are being organized by conser

vative lobbying groups like FreedomWorks. Republicans respond that the protests are an organic response to the Obama administration’s health care restructuring proposals.

There is no dispute, however, that most of the shouting and mocking is from opponents of those plans. Many of those opponents have been encouraged to attend by conservative commentators and Web sites. [More]

Why is it that liberal Democrat groups such as ACORN can "organize" (rabble rouse, really) while conservatives, independents, the elderly, the disabled and, yes, even a few principled Democrats who oppose Obama's socialist, autocratic and intolerant measures are labeled "Nazis," "brown shirts" and worse.

Liberal Democrat legislators should be thankful they do not live in the pre-Revolutionary War days when the populace used to beat, tar, feather and kick agents of the British Crown out of town.

By the way, where is First Distric CongressmanTim Walz? He is apparently not holding any town hall meetings during the August recess, ostensibly for fear that his constituents will ask him a few pointed and hard-hitting questions regarding Barack Obama's health care reform legislation, which the Congressman favors enthusiastically. It would seem that Walz doesn't have any Hy-Vee appearances scheduled this month either. Hmmmm ...

If Mr. Walz is not going to meet with his constituents and give an account of his activities, positions and voting record up to this point of the current congressional session, how will he spend the August recess? Fundraising in the Twin Cities and California, perhaps?

So, where in the world is Tim hiding? Has anyone in Mankato seen him these days? Maybe his pet blogger and faithful flunky, Sally Joe "Ollie Ox" Sorenson of "Bluestem Prairie" infamy, knows where Walz is. But wait, she lives in Hutchinson. That's not in the First District, by the way.

Profile in Cowardice

Local "librarian" and Olmsted County DFL Party "director" Frank W. Hawthorne feigns courage as he derides those who choose to post anonymously at the Rochester Post-Bulletin online comment pages. It also seems he has become somewhat of a cyber mouth piece for the local DFL as of late. Hawthorne, a pious and self-important liberal (Is there any other kind?) posts under his own name and visage, which is his choice. We are not all as good-looking and fashionable (gotta love those sweater vests he wears year round) as Frank, so it is understandable that not everyone would do the same.
Besides, we all know how intolerant, hateful and vindictive liberals are. Several of the more conservative online posters have expressed concern that if their identities are known, they may face retaliation for their opinions in the form of vandalism or character assassination in the community. Since my identity is known (I post under "paleocon"), I have experienced some of the liberal ire. A couple of years ago, one of these courageous liberals copied and pasted my online comments to paper, put them in a manilla envelope and slid it under the door of the Human Resources department at RCTC after hours. If you guessed it that that courageous act was done anonymously, you know liberals quite well.

The picture above and the inset below are a display of Frank's peculiar brand of liberal courage. Last year, Congressman Tim Walz's yellow (brown would have been more fitting) shirts thought it civil, courageous and appropriate to heckle then First District Congressional Candidate Brian Davis during the Rochesterfest parade. When I showed up with my camera to document their asinine and intolerant behavior, they were understandably reluctant to resume it. Granted, these are interns in their late teens or early twenties. I may put their behavior in the context of the stupidity of youth, not as a justification, but as an explanation, though young Republicans do not seem to behave that way in public.

What surprised me was to see Frank Hawthorne as a part of the group. In retrospect, I shouldn't have been. Hawthorne was wearing a red Tina Liebling shirt (a LIEbrarian supporting Tina LIEbling, how appropriate). Unlike Tim Walz's young hecklers, Frank and his female companion chose to hide their faces, which hardly demonstrates any courage of their liberal convictions. What was Frank hiding from? Certainly not his own shameful behavior. Regardless, whenever you read Frank howling about how cowardly the anonymous posters over at the P-B online comment line supposedly are, remember to mention the Rochesterfest parade incident last year when Frank Hawthorne hid his shameful behavior behind kids. Courageous indeed.

Witch Hunt

"Here's my problem with this, I'm just going to come out and say it. If I have anything to say against Obama it's not because I'm a racist, it's because I don't like what he's doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you're called a racist."

Portrait of a Coward II

Obama backs pet projects and signs spending bill
By Philip Elliott, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama, sounding weary of criticism over federal earmarks, defended Congress' pet projects Wednesday as he signed an "imperfect" $410 billion measure with thousands of examples. But he said the spending does need tighter restraint and listed guidelines to do it. Obama, accused of hypocrisy by Republicans for embracing billions of dollars of earmarks in the legislation, said they can be useful and noted that he has promised to curb, not eliminate them.

On another potentially controversial matter, the president also issued a "signing statement" with the bill, saying several of its provisions raised constitutional concerns and would be taken merely as suggestions. He has criticized President George W. Bush for often using such statements to claim the right to ignore portions of new laws, and on Monday he said his administration wouldn't follow those issued by Bush unless authorized by the new attorney general.

White House officials have accused Bush of using the statements to get around Congress in pursuing anti-terror tactics.

Obama signed the bill in private, unlike a number of recent signings that took place with fanfare, but he raised the issue of earmarks in public remarks playing down their scope and possible harm in the measure. They comprise about 1 percent of the spending package, which will keep the government running through September, he told reporters.

"Done right, earmarks have given legislators the opportunity to direct federal money to worthy projects that benefit people in their districts. And that's why I've opposed their outright elimination," he said.

Why did President Barack Obama hide from view when signing the spending bill? Because he is a coward and a hypocrite.

Hussein Obama's "Bipartisanship" Myth

Partisanship Is a Worthy Foe in Debate on Stimulus
By Jackie Calmes

Published: February 6, 2009
WASHINGTON — With the Senate on track to pass its version of the economic stimulus legislation, President Obama is widely expected to win final Congressional approval of the plan soon, and thus make good on an assortment of his campaign promises. But in the process, he is confronting the impediments to his most ambitious pledge: to end the capital’s partisan warfare.

Mr. Obama has been frustrated by an array of forces, from an often bitter and personal history of partisanship on Capitol Hill to the near-extinction of Republican moderates in the House to the deep ideological gulf between the parties on economic policy. And as his aspiration of putting aside petty politics has met the necessity of winning legislative votes — no more than two or three Senate Republicans are expected to support him, which is two or three more than did so in the House — he has gone through a public evolution that has left him showing sharper edges when it comes to the ways of Washington.

Frustrated that debate over the bill was being dominated by Republicans’ criticism, and that his overtures had yielded little in the way of support from across the aisle, the president who began the week hosting Republicans for a Super Bowl party had by Friday switched to publicly pressuring them, and rallying fellow Democrats, with a hard-line message about his unwillingness to compromise his priorities.
Mr. Obama seized on Friday’s worse-than-expected jobless numbers to criticize the Senate impasse as Republicans withheld the few votes he needs. “It is inexcusable and irresponsible to get bogged down in distraction and delay while millions of Americans are being put out of work,” he said. Americans, he added, did not want lawmakers “to turn back to the same tried and failed approaches that were rejected in the last election.”

His comments came on Day 3 of Mr. Obama’s counteroffensive. As the Senate debated the package this week, he initially stayed above the fray, giving Republicans leeway to add tax breaks and hoping their support for the overall plan would follow. When it did not, he began speaking out on Wednesday, even as he privately kept reaching out to a few Republicans: including, unsuccessfully, Senator John McCain of Arizona.
White House aides say that Mr. Obama will continue reaching out, but that bipartisanship should not be measured simply by how many Republican votes the final product gets.

The president is “not alarmed” by the dearth of Republican support so far, said Daniel H. Pfeiffer, the deputy White House communications director. “There’s a long process of building trust here.”
That process inevitably raised questions of whether Mr. Obama’s reaching out was more style than substance. He has hosted individual Republicans at the White House for cocktails and talks in the Oval Office, and last week made his first trip to the Capitol as president to meet with all House and Senate Republicans, overtures that won him points for style.

But the president made plain from the start that he would go only so far in altering an economic plan that embodies much of the agenda that helped get him elected. He told House Republicans, for example, that he would not back down from his proposal that a middle-class tax credit should also go to workers who earn too little to pay income taxes but who do pay payroll taxes. Most Republicans oppose that.

The urban myth that President Hussein Obama is interested in bipartisanship is an administration construct in partnership with the willing liberal media establishment. The president's recent contrived overtures toward Republicans (i.e. SuperBowl party, after hours cocktails) were just that. All show and no substance.

My favorite bit from this article is:
"White House aides say that Mr. Obama will continue reaching out, but that bipartisanship should not be measured simply by how many Republican votes the final product gets."
So, how will the president measure "bipartisanship?" What Hussein Obama really wants is unconditional support for his porkulus bill. Once Republicans refused to go along with that monstrosity, he started throwing temper tantrums in the media. Sure he won the election, but that does not mean Congress is obligated to give him whatever he wants. We are still in a democracy. I am not sure for how long, but we still are.

Government Bailout: Cash Cow for Congressional Liberal Democrats

“[New York Senator Chuck Schumer] is serving the parochial interest of a very small group of financial people, bankers, investment bankers, fund managers, private equity firms, rather than serving the general public. It has hurt the American investor first and the average American taxpayer.”
-- John C. Bogle, the founder and former chairman of the Vanguard Group.

“If you get Chuck Schumer on your side, you are O.K."
-- Lee A. Pickard, a corporate lawyer whose business clients have lined Shumer's and other Senate Democrats' campaign pockets in order to beat back regulatory initiatives

December 14, 2008

“We are not going to rest until we change the rules, change the laws and make sure New York remains No. 1 for decades on into the future.”

— Senator Charles E. Schumer, referring to financial regulations, Jan. 22, 2007

WASHINGTON — As the financial crisis jolted the nation in September, Senator Charles E. Schumer was consumed. He traded telephone calls with bankers, then became one of the first officials to promote a Wall Street bailout. He spent hours in closed-door briefings and a weekend helping Congressional leaders nail down details of the $700 billion rescue package.

The next day, Mr. Schumer appeared at a breakfast fund-raiser in Midtown Manhattan for Senate Democrats. Addressing Henry R. Kravis, the buyout billionaire, and about 20 other finance industry executives, he warned that a bailout would be a hard sell on Capitol Hill. Then he offered some reassurance: The businessmen could count on the Democrats to help steer the nation through the financial turmoil.

“We are not going to be a bunch of crazy, anti-business liberals,” one executive said, summarizing Mr. Schumer’s remarks. “We are going to be effective, moderate advocates for sound economic policies, good responsible stewards you can trust.”

The message clearly resonated. The next week, executives at firms represented at the breakfast sent in more than $135,000 in campaign donations.

Senator Schumer plays an unrivaled role in Washington as beneficiary, advocate and overseer of an industry that is his hometown’s most important business.

An exceptional fund raiser — a “jackhammer,” someone who knows him says, for whom “ ‘no’ is the first step to ‘yes,’ ” — Mr. Schumer led the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee for the last four years, raising a record $240 million while increasing donations from Wall Street by 50 percent. That money helped the Democrats gain power in Congress, elevated Mr. Schumer’s standing in his party and increased the industry’s clout in the capital.

And, if you are not disgusted yet, here's more ...

Mr. Schumer became a magnet for campaign donations from wealthy industry executives, including Jamie Dimon, now the chief executive of JP Morgan Chase; John J. Mack, the chief executive at Morgan Stanley; and Charles O. Prince III, the former chief executive of Citigroup. And he was not at all reluctant to ask them for more.

Donors describe the Schumer pitch as unusually aggressive: He calls repeatedly to suggest breakfast or dinner, coffee or cocktails. He enlists intermediaries to invite prospects to events and recruits several senators to tag along. And he presses for the maximum contribution — “I need you to max out,” he is known to say — then follows up by asking that a donor’s spouse and four or five friends write checks, too.

“He was probably the kid that sold the most candy in grade school,” said Julie Domenick, a Democratic lobbyist who has given to the senatorial campaign committee. “He is not shy.”

Mr. Schumer, in the interview, acknowledged his full-speed-ahead approach. “Any job I do, I work hard at and I try to succeed at,” he said.

As a result, he has collected over his career more in campaign contributions from the securities and investment industry than any of his peers in Congress, with the exception of Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, the Democratic nominee for president in 2004, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, which analyzed federal data. (By 2005, Mr. Schumer had so much cash in reserve that he shut down his fund-raising efforts.)

Liberals have found a way to market themselves as pro-business while reaping millions of dollars in campaign contributions from business interests. Shame on businesspeople who grease the palms of disgusting politicians like Chuckie Schumer in order to secure taxpayer money to prop up their failing enterprises. Read the entire piece to find out how Schumer has worked to actually deregulate the financial industry.

This bailout scheme turned out to be nothing less than a shakedown operation on the American taxpayer courtesy of the Democratic Party. Schumer, Barack "The Fraud" Obama, Chris "Sweetheart Bank of America/Countrywide Mortgage Deal" Dodd and Barney "I Had No Idea My Lover Was Running a Male Prostitution Ring Out of Basement of My Town Home" Frank of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mack infamy, along with every other Congressional Democrat who has opposed regulation of businesses that contribute to their campaigns, are principally responsible for the economic mess in which we are - not "the invisible hand of the marketplace" as intellectually dishonest liberals claim.

Lipstick on a Pig? Still a Pig

"I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."

-- Hillary Clinton's now infamous "sniper fire" and oft previously repeated whopper. The claim was proven false when video news footage of her visit to Bosnia surfaced. No sniper fire, no running with her head down. Only children and meaningless officials present.

"There is no crisis to be dealt with or managed when you are first lady. You don't get that kind of experience by being married to a commander in chief."
-- Obama adviser Susan Rice mocking Hillary Clinton's claim of foreign policy experience during the heated Democratic presidential primary last March.

"What exactly is this foreign policy experience? Was she negotiating treaties? Was she handling crises? The answer is no."

-- Barack Obama, also during the bitter Democratic primary in March.

Obama Team Repackaging Clinton After Campaign Digs

Saturday, November 29, 2008 9:00 AM

WASHINGTON -- It wasn't too long ago that Barack Obama and his advisers were tripping over one another to tear down Hillary Rodham Clinton's foreign policy credentials. She was dismissed as a commander in chief wanna-be who did little more than sip tea and make small talk with foreign leaders during her days as first lady.

"What exactly is this foreign policy experience?" Obama said mockingly of the New York senator. "Was she negotiating treaties? Was she handling crises? The answer is no."

That was in March, when Clinton was Obama's sole remaining rival for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Now, Clinton is on track to become Obama's secretary of state.

And, unsurprisingly, the sniping at her foreign policy credentials is a thing of the past.

Obama adviser William Daley over the weekend said Clinton would be "a tremendous addition to this administration. Tremendous."

Senior adviser David Axelrod called Clinton a "demonstrably able, tough, brilliant person."

Last spring, though, Clinton was targeted with a steady stream of criticism via conference call, e-mail and campaign-trail digs from the Obama camp, all aimed at shredding her self-portrait as an experienced and confident leader on the international stage. Some of those doing the sniping will be taking up key positions _ most likely along with Clinton _ in the new Obama administration.

Liberal hypocrisy time and time again in full display as Clinton retreads and Obama rookies intermarry during the president-elect's
redneck wedding transition. Talk about the worst of both worlds!

Obama's "Auntie Zeituni," Illegal Alien

AP: Obama aunt from Kenya living in US illegally

By EILEEN SULLIVAN and ELLIOT SPAGAT
Associated Press Writers

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

Zeituni Onyango, 56, referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in Obama's memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango's case

Obama says he didn't know aunt's illegal status

By Nedra Pickler, Associated Press Writer

CHICAGO – Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama said Saturday he didn't know his aunt was living in the United States illegally and believes that laws covering the situation should be followed.

The Associated Press found that Obama's aunt had been instructed to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya. The woman, Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), is living in public housing in Boston and is the half-sister of Obama's late father.

A statement given to the AP by Obama's campaign said, "Senator Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed."

The campaign said it was returning $260 that Onyango had contributed in small increments to Obama's presidential bid over several months. Federal election law prohibits foreigners from making political donations. Onyango listed her employer as the Boston Housing Authority and last gave $5 on Sept. 19.

Onyango, 56, is part of Obama's large paternal family, with many related to him by blood whom he never knew growing up.

Obama's father, Barack Obama Sr., left the future presidential nominee when the boy was 2, and they reunited only once — for a monthlong visit when Obama was 10. The elder Obama lived most of his life in Kenya, where he fathered seven other children with three other wives. He died in a car crash in 1982. [More]

Following the law means deporting "Auntie" Zeituni. Does anyone believe it will happen? Would Obama enforce immigration laws if elected?

The Moribund Stream Media do not seem interested to ask if Obama plans to spread any of his own wealth around to benefit "Auntie" Zeituni.

NOT Spreading His Own Wealth Around: Obama Aunt Found in Boston Slum

Found in a rundown Boston estate: Barack Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango

'Auntie Zeituni', who, with Uncle Omar, dropped out of sight after moving to the US, is backing the presidential candidate from her modest flat

Barack Obama has lived one version of the American Dream that has taken him to the steps of the White House. But a few miles from where the Democratic presidential candidate studied at Harvard, his Kenyan aunt and uncle, immigrants living in modest circumstances in Boston, have a contrasting American story.

Zeituni Onyango, the aunt so affectionately described in Mr Obama’s best-selling memoir Dreams from My Father, lives in a disabled-access flat on a rundown public housing estate in South Boston.

A second relative believed to be the long-lost “Uncle Omar” described in the book was beaten by armed robbers with a “sawed-off rifle” while working in a corner shop in the Dorchester area of the city. He was later evicted from his one-bedroom flat for failing to pay $2,324.20 (£1,488) arrears, according to the Boston Housing Court.

Barack Obama's own half-brother, George Obama, lives in squalor in a a six by nine foot hut in Kenya.

Obamas Donated Less Than 1% of Their 2000-2004 Income (Update4)

By Ryan J. Donmoyer and Julianna Goldman

March 25 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave $10,772 of the $1.2 million they earned from 2000 through 2004 to charities, or less than 1 percent, according to tax returns for those years released today by his campaign.

The Obamas increased the amount they gave to charity when their income rose in 2005 and 2006 after the Illinois senator published a bestselling book. The $137,622 they gave over those two years amounted to more than 5 percent of their $2.6 million income.

The Obamas believe in a brand of liberal "charity" where someone else's money is on the line.

Happy Liberal Halloween!

"The image of a hanged black man is a lot more intense than the image of a hanged white woman, for our country and the history of our country."

-- West Hollywood resident Chad Morisette, whose Halloween decorations include a mannequin of Sarah Palin hanging by the neck from a noose, who also muses that if the scene had feature Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, "there might have been more outrage and maybe even vandalism to the home."

A mannequin dressed as Sarah Palin is hanging from a roof in West Hollywood, CA and is causing a stir.
Monday, October 27, 2008

Some laugh and others just stop and stare...it's a Halloween decoration showing a mannequin dressed as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a West Hollywood home.

The mannequin is dressed in brunet wig, glasses and a red business suit. Another mannequin dressed as John McCain emerges from a flaming chimney.

Chad Michael Morisette, who lives in the house, told KCBS-TV that drivers and bus passengers have been stopping to snap pictures of the macabre scene.

Morisette says the effigy would be out of bounds at any other time of year, but it's withinthe spirit of Halloween. He tells KCBS "it should be seen as art, and as within the month of October. It's Halloween, it's time to be scary it's time to be spooky.

How "artistic" would it have been to hang a mannequin dressed like Obama or Hillary by a noose? Would liberals have taken it "within the spirit of Halloween?" I would like to think not.

Anger Management

This is why I moderate the comments that people send to this site.

(Anonymous) 2:22 AM

You pathetic coward.

What makes you so scared, Othelmo? Facts? The truth? Reality?

You want to run for school board? Fine. Guess what - using words like "liberal brownshirts" and "Krystallnacht" in a public online forum don't come without a price.

Some of us remember what they mean. They're not just words, you immature sh*thead. Go ahead, keep saying them.

They're part of public record now.

Sleep tight, mother******.

Wow. I have seen such rabid rage before. It has been chronicled
here , here and here. This one takes the cake, however.

I find it ironic that someone who posts anonymously at 2:22 in the morning calls anyone a "coward."

The intemperate comment above was posted about an hour after my analysis of Joe the Plumber's effect on the presidential campaign and was a "reply" to it.

I'm not sure of what "facts,""truth" or "reality" I'm
supposedly "scared." In his uncontrolled rage, the angry grasshopper above failed to mention what they are. Maybe he's cooled off by now, hopefully after a much needed anger management therapy session, and will expound on his nonsensical statement, under his own name, with a bit more clarity and rationality. Nah!

I wonder what the "price" of free speech in a fr
ee society is. I am familiar with the cost of free speech in an authoritarian society, though. As most of my readers may know, I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The year after I was born, the Brazilian military staged a coup which would last 20 years. Civil liberties were suspended overnight. Thousands were imprisoned. Many were never seen or heard from again after their arrest. Even after the military had consolidated their power, known dissenters were abducted in broad daylight.

Brazilian military coup, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, March 31, 1964

Free speech is foundational to the American system of government. I will not be silenced. Threats or not. Live with it. Intimidation is a cowardly tactic of the left to suppress dissent. The Obama campaign and its lawyers do it as a matter of course as I have discussed here and here.

Anyone who does not like what I write is free not to read it. Like a moth to a flame, however, some liberals are irresistibly drawn to "Paleocon Strikes!" I refer them to the disclaimer in the header above. Professional help in the form of anger management therapy is highly recommended as an alternative to reading my blog.

I started this blog as a means of venting my frustration over the lies and misrepresentations of the American left. I didn't know what to do with that frustration until I decided to start blogging in 2006. You can read my first post here. It is a dissertation on illegal immigration from the perspective of
a legal immigrant who passionately loves America or as Barack and Michelle Obama would say it, "this country."

Speaking of anger management issues, I wonder what price the anonymous author of the diatribe above thinks former SNL cast member, Air Amerika radio talk show host and DFL-endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken should pay for cheating on his taxes in 17 states, defrauding his own employees of their workers' compensation benefits as well as making a living out of writing pornography and jokes about rape and incest.

As for my run for school board, you can find out more about it at www.othelmo.org. You won't find any pornography, inappropriate jokes or foul language there. They would only commend me to the angry poster if I happened to be a liberal, which is definitely not the case.

I want to win Rochester School Board seat 7. As I state on my campaign site, my elementary school age children are a daily reminder of where the Rochester School Board's priorities must reside. But if I don't, you can bet I won't go into a year-long funk or refuse to call whoever is elected to congratulate him or her or misdirect my anger toward some lowly conservative blogger far away in Rochester, MN. That would truly be immature.

VP Debate: Advantage, Palin

Biden looked like he had been medicated and hour or so before the debate. The MSM reaction was that Sarah Palin stood toe to toe with Hair Plugs. Up until the debate started, the “conventional (i.e. liberal) wisdom” was that Palin was going to implode and bring the Republican ticket down with her. Nothing could have been further from the truth.

KTTC showed reaction from local Republican and Democratic debate parties in town. Republicans were universally pleased with Palin. Liberals, not so with Biden. Olmsted County DFL chair Lynn Wilson looked bitter and downcast when interviewed. But then again, what's new.

What struck me during the debate as one of the main and perhaps the pettiest reason why liberals don't like Governor Sarah Palin is her beauty queen looks. I mean, really. How many female elected officials are physically attractive?

Go, Sarah!

Biden’s performance and liberties with “the facts” reminded me of a Mark Twain quote:

“Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.”

Biden is a stranger to both facts and the truth. Apparently his memory is faltering as well. One of my favorite Palin zingers was when she said that Biden dismissed Obama as inexperienced, naive and “not ready” to be president until he was tapped to be the Obamafraud’s running mate. Biden is a self-serving hypocrite.
