Believe It or Not
Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy's dog's name is "Splash", a Portuguese water dog.

An appropriate name for a senator unaccustomed himself to being in the water when the need arose. This reminded me of another recent incident where the water wary senator was walking "Splash" along the beach in Hyannisport when a floundering fishing boat called to him for help. The senator attempted to comandeer a rowboat, but the fisherman, upon recogninzing their rescuer, implored him to call 911. For once the "Swimmer" did the right thing. At last report, no dead women were found in the vicinity.
