Principled Democrat (Apparently, There Is a Handful Left)

"I believe that Barack Obama, with MoveOn.org and Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean, has taken the Democratic Party — and they will continue to — too far to the left. I'm not comfortable there."
-- Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a top Hillary Clinton fundraiser and member of the Democratic National Committee's Platform Committee as well as the DNC's Democrats Abroad chapter announcing her support for Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Wednesday. De Rothschild brought well over $100, 000 to Hillary's presidential campaign.

Othelmo, I am glad you are showing your true colors. Democrats are ok, as long as they are "de Rothschild." Not that I had any doubt, I like the Rothschild too. Let's toast with a couple of glasses of your favorite $1000 a bottle Chateau Mouton Rothschild. You pick the year....

I am torn between the 1996 and 2005 vintages. Should we go for body and character (1996) or ripeness and depth (2005)? What's an "elitist conservative" to do?

You should shop around for your Rothschild, my Acrididaean friend. You shouldn't have to pay much more than $600 for the 1996 or around $900 for the 2005 if you shop for your fine wine online. But then again, if money is no object for an elitist liberal like you ...

Cellar Brokers is shipping the 2005 Rothschild free with a minimum order of six bottles. This may be more to your liking since they do charge $1000 a bottle.

Salud!
